Nothing tastes better than your celebratory meal after completing five days on the windy, tiring, and soul-filling W-Trek. After a nice long shower and changing into clean clothes, anything is bound to taste amazing. But why waste your first meal on mediocre food at an average place? Check out our favorite places to eat and drink that doesn’t disappoint and gain back the calories you burned on the trail. After all, a vacation isn’t a vacation unless you return with some happy weight.

1. Cafe Kaiken

Talk about a hidden gem! This quaint local restaurant is not to be overlooked. The chef-inspired menu includes delicious options, such as, traditional ceviche, mushroom ceviche (veg), salmon or lamb ravioli, filet medallions, and more. The wine selection is plentiful, the service is top-notch, the food is incredible, and there are plenty of vegetarian options as well. Don’t forget to indulge in dessert after dinner. This is certainly our favorite non-pizza place to eat in Puerto Natales!

2. La Guanaca Pizzeria

Clearly, we love pizza. But, who doesn’t? Puerto Natales certainly loves their pizza too, so it’s no surprise there’s several options in town. Their individual-sized pizzas are 10/10, and we know our pizza. The menu has options for everyone, vegetarians included. The beer selection is solid and the calafate sours are killer. If you’re in the mood for a hearty pizza (or pasta), you will not be disappointed. The service is always great too!

3. Wild

Located on one of the main strips in Puerto Natales, we love Wild for their juicy burger, beer list, and tasty cocktails. If you're in the mood for something sweet, try their homemade alfajores. The vibe is warm, cozy, and inviting with communal tables and comfy couches inside and outside seating space both in the front and back. It's a great place to relax and plan your next adventure.

4. Base Camp

The mountain ski lodge vibe welcomes tourists, guides, and locals. Warmed by a wood-fired stove and wooden decor, come here to this cash-only spot for craft beer, homemade pizza, and quesadillas. The menu is simple, but don’t be fooled, your taste buds will leave happy and you might also meet a new travel buddy.

5. Pizzeria Mesita Grande

Enjoy wood-fired pizza, tasty pasta, and a sizable selection of beer, wine and cocktails. With the open kitchen overlooking the dining area, your eyes will deceive you and you’ll end up ordering half the menu. This cozy restaurant has communal-style seating with a coat rack for optimal space between parties. Meet other hikers who are enjoying their last meal before they hit the trail or ones who are celebrating like you. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.

6. Cafeteria Amerindia

Relax and unwind after you spent days on the trail and rationing your snacks. We love this quaint cafe to scroll through and post your W-trek photos while drinking a latte and munching on an exquisite layer cake or a basket of french fries. They have one of the best Wi-Fi connections in the area, which will encourage you to order another loose leaf tea and a brownie to go with it. Just remember, you earned it.

7. Gelateria Aluen Patagonia

Why not travel to the end of the world and eat gelato? This local spot is all the rage, with some of the best gelato we’ve had in Chile! There’s a wide selection of unique flavors and all the common ones too. After all of the calories you burned on the trail, indulge a little. Not overly sweet, our favorite flavors are calafate, arroz con leche, and stracciatella.
